Why we do them
PHL's Life Shower was inspired by one of our volunteers and modeled after the familiar idea of a baby or bridal shower. Each Life Shower is a free, welcoming event designed to bring people together for a fun and meaningful purpose.
Every Life Shower highlights one of PHL's five core communities while introducing attendees to an organization serving that community. Guests learn more about the needs of those being served and are invited to bring donated items or other support specifically requested by the featured organization.
Through Life Showers, PHL combines education, community engagement and practical support for organizations doing important work throughout our community.

How they work

PHL identifies a partner organization serving one of our core communities.

We share a list of needed items, drop-off locations, and dates.

Neighbors bring items — or give financially if they can't shop.

Collect & sort
Volunteers gather and organize everything that comes in.

Deliver & celebrate
We deliver to the partner, who shares their thanks with the community.
