PA Pro-Life Federation Opposes the Reproductive Freedom Act

The PA Pro-Life Federation is urging Pennsylvanians to contact lawmakers in opposition to the Reproductive Freedom Act, a state bill the federation says would expand abortion access.

House Bill 26, known as the Reproductive Freedom Act, would repeal Pennsylvania's Abortion Control Act. Among its changes: it would eliminate the state's parental consent requirement for minors, remove the 24-hour informed consent waiting period, and allow non-physicians such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants to perform abortions.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Kristine Howard, is currently in committee in the state House. A companion bill, Senate Bill 837, is pending before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation opposes the bill and is urging supporters to contact their state legislators to vote against it.
